The South’s Best Tea Rooms

Our British love for tea and cake is certainly reflected with the increase of little tea rooms popping up all over the south coast. Here’s our guide to just a few within range of our properties.

The Tea Party – Lee-on-the-Solent

Tea PArty

This vintage little tea room boosts some serious afternoon tea decor. With a vast variety of cakes and flavours of tea you can not go wrong here.

Even the staff look elegant in their classic dress and pinnys. A great place to take your mum.

Josie’s Deli – Bishops Waltham

Josies

Josie’s is a little bit more than just a tea house. Serving up a delicious range of coffee and cake alongside an impressive range of wine gives this place the perfect location for a cheeky glass or two.

Our favourite is the hot chocolate served in a mug with a huge straw and cream!

Elsie’s Tea Rooms – Botley, Southampton

Elsies

A cosy little tea room situated in Southampton’s hub for fine tea since August 2013. Set in a beautiful characteristic building with a vaulted ceiling and original beams the building was originally a stable and all its’ original features have been maintained and complimented by beautifully “upcycled” shabby chic furniture serving “proper tea” in pretty china cups and saucers.

Elsie’s serve a light breakfast/brunch and lunch menu complimented by either loose leaf tea or teapigs tea and an ethical blend of coffee. Homemade cakes, scones and afternoon tea are also a speciality.

Southsea Coffee – Southsea

Southsea

Coffee. Food. Awesome cake. All described to a tea. Placed on the delightful Osbourne road Southsea Coffee has become a one of Twitter’s busiest pages for customer reviews. The courtyard is cute for Al Fresco supping.

We love the infamous home made ‘Cold Brew’ in a bottle all served alongside some of the most delightful crockery we have ever seen. Go and come out happy.

  1. Lovely list Ben! Have you been to the 19 Fourteas Tea Rooms in Havant before? They are just fabulous! Also, Chi Coffee in North End is amazing too, although not strictly speaking a tea room. 🙂
