Bank Holiday is about to unleash itself upon us, here’s a guide for stuff to do (if you didn’t fancy the Common People or Mutiny festival).
Overload Military Show, Denmead
If tanks, re-enactments and all things military are your thing then this is the show for you. Situated on the outskirts of Portsmouth (near Waterlooville) this annual show displays some of the finest battle kit from it’s day.
Phoneyfest, Concorde Club, Eastleigh
Live music on a Bank Holiday – you can not beat it. The Concorde Club, just outside Southampton, hosts some of the finest local tribute bands with something for everyone. Now in it’s 6th year 54 different tribute acts take to the 3 stages.
From Irish rock legends Thin Lizzy to the late legend Michael Jackson, soul legends THE STYLISTICS to 90s heartthrobs Take That, Ed Sheeran to Whitney, Lady Gaga to the Beatles... PhoneyFEST has it all and more!
Set over the three-day Bank Holiday weekend expect awesome activities for people of all ages! Starting on the Saturday evening at 7pm, you will be able to see fantastic live music acts on stage in Petersfield square until 10pm followed by two full days of activities including more live music, an awesome petting zoo with fun, cuddly creatures to scare-your-pants-off tarantulas, traditional dobby horse carousel to other modern children’s rides, The Post and Herald Festival of Transport, as well as two days of market stalls selling quality produce and much more.
A new attraction this year will be Petersfield Steam Day on Monday 30th with an assortment of steam engines and other steam attractions on display. The awesome festival bar on the Square will be featuring fantastic local ales & ciders. Although slightly out of the way from our serviced apartments a direct train service from Southampton/Portsmouth to Petersfield is the best option.
